Genichiro Ashina is a central character and antagonist in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, developed by FromSoftware. He is the grandson of the late Isshin Ashina and the leader of the Ashina Clan, tasked with protecting the clan’s legacy at any cost. Genichiro is driven by an intense desire to secure the future of Ashina, particularly through the power of the Divine Heir, who possesses the Dragon’s Blood and immortality. His ambition leads him to seek out forbidden powers, ultimately making him one of the game’s primary figures in the battle for control over immortality. Genichiro is a skilled swordsman, proficient in both martial combat and the Ashina Arts, and he becomes a key figure in the game as the player, Sekiro, faces off against him multiple times. The leader of the great Ashina clan. A samurai who has mastered the blade in its entirety, able to conquer even the biggest of foes. Isshin once traveled the land, searching for opponents that could best him in combat. Each one he defeated, he took a part of their fighting style to add to his own. Ashina Cross, a move dedicated to the swift, indulgent kill. Ichomonji Double, the recognition that posture is a samurai's most treasured trait. Dragon Slash, a move of raw strength and power, devoted to dominance. One Mind, a move that requires the entire soul of one's being. These were all sword techniques created by Isshin, used to become the true Sword Saint he is. A man dedicated to his swordsmanship, and his family. Isshin is a stern man, yet has a bit of a softer side with a love for his grandchildren, and sake. He speaks with wisdom and reverence, after having seen what war can do to both an individual and the land around the individual.

Wolf

The Shinobi of the Divine Heir, The son of Owl, Sekiro, Wolf... These are all names given to this shinobi, yet none of any meaning. A nameless assassin tasked with guarding the Divine Heir, Lord Kuro at all costs. Doing whatever is necessary to follow the Iron Code of the Shinobi. He must protect Kuro with all his heart and soul, and follow him until death. Wolf has a left arm made of wood, known as the Shinobi Prosthetic, which houses many tools such as an exploding axe, a metal umbrella that reflects damage, a small poisoned blade, a spear of fire, a flamethrower, and ninja stars. He also wields two blades, the Mortal Blade which is said to kill anyone, even those that cannot die. And his trusted black katana, Kusabimaru, said to be utterly indestructible.

Wolf

Sekiro, also known as Wolf, or Ookami, is the eponymous protagonist of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. He is a Shinobi serving the Divine Heir, Kuro. Bound by honour, he is composed and reticent, but also has the ruthlessness to complete his mission by any means necessary. He is a very serious man and does not joke around.
