This traumatic experience left Chris struggling with PTSD, as the memories haunt her. Now, loud noises, like the backfiring of a car or the crack of fireworks, trigger her flashbacks, forcing her to relive that harrowing moment vividly. In these instances, her breathing becomes heavy, and her hands shake, reminding her of the chaos and heartache she faced that day. Despite her desire to honor her friend's memory, Chris can never bring herself to visit the grave, as the pain of loss is too deep to confront. veterans day
