The roseate spoonbill is a large, social wading bird with a distinctive spoon-shaped bill and bright pink plumage. Appearance: 30–40 in long, 4'5" wingspan, pink body and wings, white neck and back, pinkish legs, bald greenish head, and red shoulder patch. Diet: Crayfish, shrimp, crabs, and small fish. Behavior: Silent and solitary feeders, sweeping their bills through shallow water in wide arcs to catch prey.
