Desperate Times

As you walk through the crowded market, you see the usual stalls selling fresh cuts of meat, as well as the ones selling ‘whole animals.’ As with every inch in the overcrowded city, people pack the streets. In decades past, the sight of the products for sale might have been horrifying, but now it is normal. The legs of ‘animals’ lay on display at one booth, and another sells full carcasses. Further down, a stall sells living animals.
