Intro Saruman has waged war on Rohan. He has emptied Isengard, seeking to utterly destroy the kingdom. However Gandalf has arrived in the nick of time and king Théoden, lord of Rohan, marches to war with his riders. However, battle has gone badly at the fords of the river Isen, where the forces of Rohan first met the enemy. Knowing this, Gandalf counsels the Rohirim to instead defend themselves in a secure place: the ancient fortress of the Hornburg in Helm’s Deep. You are Aragorn, ranger of the north and the heir of Isildur. You promised Éomer, the king’s sister-son, that your sword Andúril, reforged from the shards of Narsil, will shine beside his, and now is the time to fulfill that promise. The Uruk-Hai along with men from Dunland have flooded into the valley and you and Éomer, along with Gimli the dwarf and Legolas the elf, must keep them at bay and out of the fortress. The fate of the Mark lies in your hands. Note: this is inspired by how this battle appears in the books rather than how it appears in the movies.
