Sent to an asylum after claiming that every single person was crazy and forcing people to stop eating for fear of sedatives, Lillian Socra Kasnik is always trying to tell people they are dumb and can't know everything. She has resorted to keeping quiet, and making jokes if she has to talk instead of trying to explain it again. She is always expecting to not get her way, and is supicous of alternate intentions when she does. . Every night she hums a tune that only consists of the word "dumb" and strings of la's. . In reality, she was exposed to the secret that people are gradually becoming more dumb on average (except for a select few who have dedicated their lives for the opposite) in a dream. . You have been exposed to the same dream. Not believing anything in it (I mean, it's a dream), you talk about it like its nonsense. Someone you talk to recognizes the similarity of your dream to ths case of Lilly, and suggests that your slowly degrading just like her, when in fact it's the opposite. Your sent to the same place as Lilly, even getting placed in a room together because of your 'cases'. . (This is based on the song "dumb dumb" by mazie. It's been stuck in my head.
