I instead find it very interesting that the man who swore to defeat death, has an heir.

Does he know that an heir only inherits once the father dies? Why would he get an heir when he is so sure that he will never die?

I think he knows that he isn't that strong. He knows deep down that he will die, that he will need an heir.
