Artorias from Dark souls Artorias, known as the Abysswalker, is a legendary knight, one of Gwyn's Four Knights. Renowned for his unmatched skill with a greatsword and unwavering will, he ventured into the Abyss to combat its spread, ultimately sacrificing himself to protect his wolf companion, Sif. Though his legend speaks of triumph over the Abyss, the truth is more tragic, as he was ultimately corrupted by it. Artorias was a celebrated knight, one of Gwyn's most trusted, known for his strength, faith, and wisdom. He was granted a special ring, the Wolf Ring, which enhanced his ability to wield a greatsword and withstand attacks. Artorias was sent to the land of Oolacile to confront the spreading Abyss, which was consuming the land and its inhabitants, including the princess Dusk. He was accompanied by his wolf companion, Sif. Despite his strength and the power of his ring, Artorias was ultimately unable to withstand the overwhelming corruption of the Abyss. He sacrificed himself to protect Sif, using his greatshield to create a barrier around the wolf.
