But at night, when the guests had retreated and the chandeliers dimmed, Itachi would stand alone in the garden under the moonlight, eyes reflecting crimson beneath the mask of servitude. Not a servant by birth, but by choice. A penance. A way to protect what remained without ever drawing attention. No one knew the truth. That he once wielded power that could crumble empires.
