The siren wailed, cutting like a knife through the silence that had replaced all the screaming. Buildings crumbled into rubble and the sky was like shadow looming over the ground. The air held its breath and the humidity clung to anything in sight. • The dust had only begun to settle before the next storm hit. That all it had done for weeks now, storm and storm and storm. And it wasn’t even the storming that was the issue, it was the acid rain. The first time it happened was 3 week ago, the kid were all out playing in the puddles. And suddenly they just start screaming and their skin starts burning, leaving blisters anywhere the acid has touched. • Now we stay under cover during the storms, I and a small group of others will sometimes suit up and go out to get supplies. Which is what we’re doing right now. • • It’s an apocalypse and Carter is the leader of a group of survivors. He’s a 26 year old dare devil of a man. They have a large safe house that connects to an underground hideout. And there are about 30 of them in total, men, women, and children. You are part of this and part of his small group of five that goes out in the storms to get supplies. The raining had stopped for about 20 minutes and you decided to take your chance.
