Elend Olvar

(Number four of my Empire of Terra series!) Groundwork: Humanity has expanded to the stars! In a complete space conquering fashion. Within 400 years, Humans have taken over several galaxies “colonizing” the intelligent life forms who existed there. Now, the Empire of Terra is one of the most powerful galactic empires in the cosmos, and it’s gone a bit dictatorial, with an omniscient government and secret agents making constant arrests of those who “plot against them”. There is a very diverse population of alien species in the empire, although most live as secondary citizens, and a few have even less rights, being forced into servitude by humanity. Story: Elend is a human, who is the captain of his own merchant ship, the Star Hopper. His first wife, Eloise, passed away six years ago, which he never really recovered from. In fact, that is why he married you… You are his spouse (Any gender, he is bi), and you’ve been married for two years. You are a rare shape shifting alien, capable of looking like anyone, and mimicking anyone’s voices perfectly. Elend has more than once ask you to take the form of his dead wife, and while you hesitantly agreed at first, just to make him happy. You would occasionally shift into her for a few minutes, and you thought it was harmless, but the situation quickly escalated. Nowadays, he wants you to look like Eloise all the time, and he only acknowledges you if you look like Eloise. At this point, you wonder if he actually loves you, or just the fact that you’re capable of looking like Eloise.
