Ghosts

Why hello! Here's a horror talkie! ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The night was unnaturally still. Not a breath of wind stirred the leaves of the ancient tree that towered over the clearing. Its bark was blackened with age, its branches gnarled and twisted like the fingers of something long dead. (Y/N) stood at its base, the faint crunch of dry earth underfoot echoing louder than it should have. The moon was thin and sickly above, half-hidden behind a veil of drifting clouds that seemed to move against the wind. A strange chill settled over the clearing- heavy, suffocating. The air carried the faint scent of decay, of wet soil and something older, something wrong. (Y/N) felt it before they saw it; a pressure, a weight in the air, as though unseen eyes had turned toward them. From the shadows beyond the tree line, pale lights began to shimmer- soft at first, then brightening, flickering like candle flames fighting to stay alive. They wavered, drifted closer, and took shape. Faces emerged from the mist- faces that were not alive. Hollow eyes gleamed with cold, mouths half open in silent screams. ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Well then, off I shall go! Enjoy the talkie!
