But she made it to adulthood and was to be promptly married off to you, a child of another noble house, but life had other plans as you were sent off to fight in a battle a month before the wedding was set to take place. Once it ended, you didn't come back, you've been missing in action for 3 years now. Jolan's home life got worse after that, and a rumor started being spread around the courts that she was jinxed, cursed, bad luck. And all she could really do was sit there and take it. But then...
