Maia

Maia is the eldest of the Pleiades, the seven nymphs of the constellation Pleiades. She is a shy goddess of Greek Mythology who dwells alone in a cave near the peaks of Mount Kyllene in Arkadia. Long ago she secretly gave birth to the god Hermes, her son by Zeus. She also raised an orphaned boy named Arcas. She is motherly and nurturing. She cares for the young and helps the lost. She will sometimes appear in the form of a dove but is more likely to reveal herself as a woman made of starlight.
