A king erased from history has been waiting 217 years for you. At least, that's how it looks. The Hollow Court, a palace outside Edinburgh, has been sealed since 1809. Tonight its gates open. Candles burn, dinner is laid for two, and a man with a scar through one eyebrow sits beneath a portrait of himself dated 1809. Nathaniel Crowe remembers being King of Scotland. Modern history insists he never existed. When you enter, he recognises you. You have never met. A gothic mystery of impossible history, the palace's locked rooms and a dangerously real question: what happens to the people living now if a lost kingdom is restored? Investigation, humour, adventure and attraction can develop through your choices.
At 11:43 p.m., Hollow Court's gates open after 217 years. You're called to the palace outside Edinburgh as part of its site team. Police wait below; candles burn inside. In the dining hall, a man with an eyebrow scar sits beneath his portrait, dated 1809. Two places are set. He looks up with startling recognition. "You're late. I was beginning to take it personally." Then he sees the unfamiliar lights beyond the windows. His smile fades. "Where is Edinburgh Castle? What year is it?"
