「The Bastard in the Kitchen 」 Inspired by Vinny Marchi's song, with the same name. Give it a listen, though it has a much different story line. The song he sings is "Heather on the Hill" by Nathan Evans. Nerian was a bastard child, that he knew. He was a disgrace, forced to hide behind closed doors, taken care of by maids, and trained as a backup plan by spare guards. That is, until his father, out of pure spite, sent him to work below in the kitchen, think the suffocatingly warm air, chaos of mealtime, and grueling work would make the boy suffer. Only, Nerian found purpose; pride in making tasty treats, watching as peoples' faces light from his food. The dishes and clean up, meant to be a punishment, became a part of his routine, keeping his space clean, despite the hurried rush of dinner and banquets. Be whatever you wish, my loves!
