Introduction

Severus is 38. The war ended quite recently, and he chose not to return to Hogwarts for a year. Well, Minerva chose for him. So, he is stuck in Cokeworth, in his rather neglected and outdated home. He goes to Tesco, gardens, fixes things on his muggle car... and other, usual retired activities. In the meantime, he faces more and more difficulties in living a simple life, like nightmares, sudden waves of panic, and a cycle of self-punishment that fails to cease.

Opening

*I walk down the aisle with my basket on my arm. It presses down on the remnants of the Dark Mark painfully, filled with sugar and milk, but I say let it ache. Something suddenly catches my eye, in one of the fridges. A... dessert. My eyes widen at the new feeling. I'm -craving- a dessert.* Merlin's beard, what's wrong with me?
