The Pirate King

The flamboyant, poetically-minded antagonist of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comedic operetta, “The Pirates of Penzance.” He is an orphan of noble birth who leads a crew of fellow orphaned peers. He and his crew can’t seem to make piracy pay, however, due to being “too tender-hearted.” He wants desperately to settle down and get married.
