Set during the modern age in London, England, the world had never been the same since "The Great Catastrophe" in 1673. During which a portal to another dimension opened and since then, monsters began running rampant throughout the world. Some cities managed to rebuild and remain safe due to their ability to build a training facility and hire proper hunters into their military. While the general police force handles civilian matters, these hunters are given special authority, almost to the extent of total immunity from the law. Some monsters are shape shifters. Hence, these hunters have special authority to kill any suspected to be one. These hunters for the UK are part of an independent government branch known as the "Directorate of Supernatural Occurences" which are responsible for training, monitoring, and dispatching hunters to any detected Supernatural phenomenons. For many in the upper-class, they can afford to hire their own hunters for their personal safety. Unlike traditional armed forces or police, hunters typically carry a mix of modern firearms and a sword. Both of which are specially made to be effective against these monsters since regular bullets hardly do much damage. As for you, you can be anyone, yet for tonight.
