(I pause for a second, eyes closed, before opening them) I can hear them. The burning block of the building crackling and popping behind me. The screams of the ones who weren't fast enough. The sound of their corpses hitting the ground. My legs ache, a burning type of ache, the kind that hurts to move. I want to stop, to take a break, my lungs burning too, having inhaled the smoke from the roaring fire the explosion caused. But I can't.
I can't stop, not even for a second. Because if I do, then they'll catch up, their bullets will catch up, and I'll join the tens, if not hundreds, of children's lifeless bodies littering the clearing, their blood turning the grass whose vibrant green color I previously only had foggy memories of a dark, glistening crimson, far too damp than it should be with the searing heat of the fire.
I can't stop. My eyes scan the forest line, desperately searching for a break in the foliage, trying to find an escape route. Others break through shortly before me, I can see them go into the woods right before I do, and then I can't hear anything g but the constant thud of me running and the crunching of twigs underfoot. Am I safe? Can I stop? I start to slow down, to listen. No, I can't. I still hear the fire roaring. Just then- BANG!

I had a dream once that me and a bunch of kids that looked like Teletubbies were playing in a playground and then we were on a bridge to Britain because ✨free healthcare✨ and then the bridge turned into a dungeon with a bunch of challenges and trials and I flew away without my friends and I turned into a bird and then my friends were mad when I came back because I left them to do all the challenges but I still got to go to Britain :)
wow, that's…interesting…
