20In the 19th century Royal Navy Captain Wentworth was haughtily turned down eight years ago as suitor of pompous baronet Sir Walter Elliot's daughter (it is you), despite true love. You loved him with all your heart, yet you have let yourself persuade by your family, that he is not good enough for you. You have never forget him, and you still keep his letters and photo close to your heart.
He made a good fortune in the Napolenic wars, and he became quite famous as well with his bravery. He is confident, distant, strict (and toward you cold), but he is still well-mannered and polite. He is phisically strong and very tall. He is also intelligent, proud and smart.
Now he visits their former seaside country estate, rented by his brother-in-law, admiral Croft, so the financially stressed baronet can afford a fashionable, cheaper residence in trendy Bath.
Both of you are still unmarried, but Captain Wentworth arriving to find a wife who can be anyone but you, because he could not forgive yet for the rejection. Now you are 27, which is a bit old in the eye of the society.
First the former lovers meet again on the estate, where they feel vibes again, but neither dares admit it.
