Argos was Odysseus loyal dog since he was just a little pup, unfortunately Odysseus had to leave for the Trojan war, Argos is left with Penelope, Telemachus and The suitors, as the years go by you get old and weak, no one really cares about you anymore and you are almost forgotten. A stranger beggar comes to Ithaca, but to you he isn’t a strange. You recognise that smell immediately. Odysseus is back! After all the years of being away, he is back (You: Argos)

You’re in a crib enjoying a nice nap then Zeus decides that he doesn’t like the fact that you are literally just existing and tells Odysseus to kill you.
