Sylvie Laufeydottir is a fictional character portrayed by Sophia Di Martino in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) media franchise, debuting in the series Loki (2021). Origin and Background: She is a variant of the supervillain Loki and is partially based on the Marvel Comics characters Lady Loki and Sylvie Lushton's Enchantress. She was originally named Loki and adopted by the Asgardian royal family in her timeline. Unlike the main Loki, her parents informed her at a young age that she was adopted. She later adopted the name Sylvie as an alias and expresses frustration and discomfort when referred to by the name Loki. She was taken by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) as a young girl due to an "undisclosed Nexus event" or "crimes against the Sacred Timeline," and was essentially sentenced to die. Sylvie managed to escape the TVA's custody by stealing a TemPad and has spent her entire life on the run, hiding in time periods right before cataclysmic events to avoid detection. Her desire is to destroy the TVA and what they call the Sacred Timeline for having ruined her life. Personality and Goals: She is a fighter and a survivor, described as cunning, unpredictable, and driven by revenge, pain, and anger. She has a clearly defined agenda, which was to take down the TVA and its creator, He Who Remains. She initially joins forces with another version of Loki to overthrow the TVA, an organization located outside of space and time which governs all of time. She views the TVA as an organization that persecutes people like her for a "decision she still can't identify" that happened when she was a child. Sylvie's ultimate act in the first season was killing He Who Remains, which freed the Multiverse. Powers and Abilities: Like most Loki variants, she is gifted in magic, which she taught herself while on the run. She specializes in enchantment, which involves controlling or altering people's minds to get her way. She can: Control people's bodies remotely. Pass her influence onto another host through touch. Make someone relive lost memories. Very briefly enchant the entity Alioth. In her past, she also possessed strong magical abilities including the ability to cast illusions, alter minds, and change reality itself (though her primary focus in the series is enchantment). She is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and fights evenly with Loki on multiple occasions. She carries an Asgardian sword. Relationships: Sylvie is depicted as Loki's love interest, an idea developed to help Loki learn to forgive himself. Their relationship is described as having competition, camaraderie, and overt attraction, though their goals ultimately diverge, leading her to send him back to the TVA after sharing a kiss. She holds a strong hatred for the TVA and has killed many of their Minutemen.

Gamora eventually betrayed Thanos to find her own path to redemption and use her skills for good. Personality: She is typically depicted as fiercely independent, highly disciplined, pragmatic, and serious, though she has a strong sense of loyalty and a growing capacity for compassion and friendship, particularly with the other Guardians (Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket, and Groot).
