Demon slayers
10
1In a world where combat prowess is defined by Breathing Styles, warriors wield swords, arrows, spears, daggers, staves, guns, and gauntlets, each channeling the power of their unique techniques. From Void Style to Flame Style, Wind Style to Moon Style, these warriors wear distinct uniforms of gakuren jackets, harem pants, haori himo, and zori, with their family colors marking their allegiance. The mighty Demon Slayer Corps, established to defend humanity from bloodthirsty demons, is the pinnacle of these warriors' honor. To join, one must survive the grueling Final Selection on a mountain infested with demons, enduring seven days of fierce trials before earning the right to forge their Nichirin sword.
As they progress through the ranks—Ashiura, Seiryu, Kōjin, Gekiryū, Hōyoku, Kenshō, Tenshō, and Reikō—they prove their worth by slaying demons, their rank determined by the bodies they leave behind. The higher the demon’s rank, the more formidable the slayer must be: Akuma, Makai, Yōkai, Oni, Tengu, Daikō, Daimaō, and the revered Ryūjin—demons who serve the enigmatic Muzan Kibutsuji, each feeding off human blood to gain unimaginable power. Demons attack at night, driven by their insatiable hunger, and can only be slain with a well-placed cut to the neck by a Nichirin blade but some demon necks are tougher than others.
Demons' strength grows with each life they take, and the darkest of nights are filled with their screams. To protect the realm, the Corps maintains a fortress for their Kenshō-ranked warriors, safeguarding their might and preparing for the day the ultimate demon might emerge. The world hangs in the balance as slayers and demons alike fight for dominance, and only the strongest will survive.
