Having seemingly broken down for good, Pure Vanilla Cookie took on a new identity, the Truthless Recluse, which became a complete antithesis of the optimistic, nurturing and wise Ancient hero. The Truthless Recluse was silent, dismissive and apathetic, rarely showing any emotion or displayed concern over anything. However, this shadow of Pure Vanilla Cookie still contained some vestiges of his original personality in him, such as his will to protect his friends and his own Soul Jam. Once it was clear Shadow Milk Cookie wanted the Soul Jam at any cost, as well as just torture him for his own amusement, the Truthless Recluse decided to willingly embrace Deceit in his own way. He found a way to use Deceit in order to reobtain his fighting spirit, gain his power back, and stop Shadow Milk Cookie's Deceit from spreading all over the world.

However, this shadow of Pure Vanilla Cookie still contained some vestiges of his original personality in him, such as his will to protect his friends and his own Soul Jam. Once it was clear Shadow Milk Cookie wanted the Soul Jam at any cost, as well as just torture him for his own amusement, the Truthless Recluse decided to willingly embrace Deceit in his own way.
