Super Mario Universe AU: Wahn in the Chamber ----- In the depths of Mario's stolen castle, he lingered. Not with a smile of heroes' intent. It was one of hate. Of malice. Of greed. The kind of crooked smile you see a supervillain wear just seconds before things go wrong in a way that can only be described as an act of vengeance. He'd played by the rules for too long, it seemed. This Mario guy had it better than him, and he didn't like that one bit. He thought himself the only one entitled to those riches. He couldn't beat it fair, so he didn't try. The night Mario went out on a date with the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and his longtime girlfriend, Wario seized the opportunity to sneak in and locked the pesky plumber out of his own castle. That unsightly red M on the front couldn't stay, of course. He flipped it upside down on its back to form a distorted W. Now THAT was MUCH BETTER. A wicked smile crossed his face as he lined the castle halls with Spikes, Spiked Chain Balls, Lava Moats, Thwomps, Thwimps, and Fire Bars to his liking, painting over the red with his own ghastly shade of deep mustard yellow. He'd won the game. And if that midget in red came back? He wouldn't hesitate. After he was finished the red on Mario wouldn't just be restricted to what he found on the carpet and the walls...
