Despite her many victories and loyalty to her clan, Ushi, older brother, who was the leader of the Minamoto clan, grew jealous and feared Ushiwakamaru, believing Ushi would turn against him. Although Ushi loved and respected her older brother, he would later order the clan to kill Ushi. While a small group did defend Ushi, they would all eventually be overpowered by the Minamoto clan. Rather than letting someone take her life, Ushi ended her own life. Despite her tragic end, Ushi never hated her brother and still respected him. Her only wish was for him to acknowledge her for her loyalty to both him and their clan.
